Join us also for a special Night Sky workshop, featuring literary and astronomical exploration, with Dr. Ron Stottlemyer, Carroll College, as part of our annual benefit dinner.

A work day designed to help us inventory our landscape at Cove Canyon. Free, lunch will be provided. 10:00-3:00.

Explore how persons and places relate in an engaging, mutually creative way with philosophy professor Eric Buck of MSU-B.
June 8 (Sunday): Photography
Learn a new skill or brush up on technique as Dave Shumway of RMC leads a wildlife photography seminar. 9am-noon, option to bring a sack lunch and stay for more exploration in the afternoon. $15/person.
June 11: Pine Trees & Prairie Dogs
Learn about the plant and animal species that call this area home with Cat Lynch, Mad Science of Montana.
June 25: Naturalist Basics
Learn about the basics of ecology, observation, and our local landscape with Nora Taylor, Montana BLM
July 9: Geology
The rims and other local geologic structures have a rich history. Discover their formations and processes with Dave Coppock, BLM
July 12 (Saturday): Weather and Climate
From La Nina to drought, learn about important meteorological forces that shape our landscape with Joe Lester, NOAA, and Carolyn Parrish, RCLI. 9:30-2:00 (Bring a lunch!)
July 23: Poetry & Landscape
The canyons and prairies near Billings are a rich environment for creative writing. Join Tami Haaland, MSU-B
August 6: Landscape & Identity
Susan Gilbertz, MSU-B, will speak about her extensive research on the importance of place to individual and community identity, emphasizing the Billings landscape.
August 20: Falconry
Kevin Thompson, a local realtor with Green Realty, will talk about this ancient sport and the influence of modern land management practices.
