About Mary Fitzpatrick
Mary Fitzpatrick earned a BS in Physics in 1970, and a PhD in Counselor Education in 1977. She has a private counseling practice in Billings as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor. She has lived in Billings since 1983, having escaped the East by moving first from Maryland to Pittsburgh, PA and New Mexico, before finding Montana. In 2006-07 Mary was an active member of the Governor's Climate Change Advisory Committee. She served on the Board of the Northern Plains Resource Council for about 10 years, and currently serves the organization on the Organization and Finance and the Clean Energy Task Forces. In April 2007 she joined the Board of the Rim Country Land Institute. In her spare time, Mary enjoys gardening, hiking and backpacking, birding, music, reading, yoga, biking, tennis and new things that come along. “I’m not an environmentalist; there is no environment. Tell me anything that is “out there” that is not in each of us. I’d like to save the whole planet once and for all, but as a practical matter, I know we have to save it a few brain cells at a time.” |
