Poetry Workshop Rescheduled for Sept. 3
Poet and professor Tami Haaland will lead a poetry and landscape workshop on September 3rd. July 23rd, the original date, turned out to be the day of the Cove Canyon fire. Join us for this experience in creative writing, now with even more interesting landscape features to explore.

Due to the success of our summer series, Rim Country will continue our Wednesday evening programs through the rest of the year. Topics to be covered include expressive arts, fire ecology, environmental ethics, and native plants, among others. Look for further information here on the website and in our monthly newsletter.
Fire comes to Cove Canyon
After an abundant spring, a few weeks of hot weather, and a prairie lightning storm, a fire was ignited on the land on July 23rd. It burned 700 acres from the Eastern boundary to about 2 miles west, mostly in the main canyon area and nearby plateau. An article appeared in the Billings Gazette on July 24th. More Information...
Feast With Friends on the Prairie Benefit

Rim Country Land Institute Announces Summer Program Series
Join Rim Country Land Institute outdoors and on-site for a series of summer workshops designed to help the people of Billings connect with the unique landscape around them. From naturalist basics to poetry and photography to philosophical exploration, our lineup of speakers and topics is sure to offer something for everyone. Most workshops will be held on Wednesday evenings, from 5:30-7:30, though a few additional weekend events are also on tap. Families and individuals are invited; register by calling the office at 238-7479. Cost for Wednesday evening events is $5/person, $20/family. More Information... |
