RCLI Growth & Development
Growing With the Community
As a new organization, RCLI will pursue and monitory growth and development in the following major areas:
 Development of programs which connect participants to the goals of our vision statement in very concrete and tangible ways. Each RCLI experience, presentation, workshop or course will offer a deeper connection with land – a connection that can be experienced, expanded and deepened in all other relationships.
Development and expansion of place-based education concepts. At present, there is a vast body of experience and knowledge about place-based education . We hope to contribute both the theory and practice of this valuable kind of learning through evaluation, publication and dissemination of program results.
Development of a body of research-based information to be shared with the larger community. We expect that our research programs will, through observation, study and experimentation, yield valuable information about the prairie ecosystem and about natural systems in general.
Growth of a community of educated citizens who hold a solid sense of place so they can participate more fully in community decisions which affect their lives and their holistic health.
Growth of our organization itself through expansion of our donor base, expansion of our Board of Directors , building of a sustainable structure whose architecture, construction and operation are all in harmony with the surrounding ecosystem. While our present tipi is our first structure, we are excited about building a more permanent structure which will permit us to expand our learning experiences. We hope to be able to house at least 10 students for long term study/research projects.
